Fast turnaround, decorative resin floor to replace unhygienic, damaged concrete
Brief Description
As part of a larger works project, Remmers were asked to provide a decorative, anti slip surface to the staff welfare facilities within a busy factory environment.
Problems and Requirements
The existing concrete floor was badly damaged and uneven. As part of the works, new locker, shower and toilet areas were to be constructed.
The existing surface therefore needed levelling and topping with a decorative, anti-slip, hygienic flooring system. The problem was, time. As other trades over ran the opportunity to do the flooring works was condensed into just four days.
Remmers were able to offer a solution with the product Optiplan, which is a quick-drying, levelling compound, installed between 10-15mm thick.
Once the surface was levelled, a new hybrid resin technology, Quick Protect, was used to provide a decorative flake floor finish with integral perimeter.
The final finishing coat of the Quick Protect system incorporated micro beads to ensure a safe surface in both wet and dry conditions.
