Chemical resistant resin floor for extremely tired warehouse storage area
Brief Description
Problems and Requirements
Once the floor had been prepared, the weaker concrete required strengthening with Remmers Epoxy MT100, which was thinned 10% to aid penetration into the concrete matrix. Two further coats of Epoxy MT100 were applied to form a liquid damp proof membrane.
The building had been constructed on an existing yard slab therefore it was unlikely that a DMP was present which could lead to osmotic blistering if not installed. A scratch coat of Epoxy MT100 was also applied to fill the profile of the floor.
Remmers Epoxy WHG was selected as the most suitable form of resin flooring as it offers excellent chemical resistance, along with crack bridging capabilities, making it particularly suitable for this type of old industrial floor.
To achieve the required level of slip resistance, 0.3-0.6mm quartz aggregate was added to the first coats of Epoxy WHG, providing an even slip resistant finish.
