New chemical and slip resistant resin flooring for refurbishment of airport maintenance facility
Brief Description
One of Belgium’s largest airline required an anti-slip, chemical resistant floor finish for its main airport maintenance hangar.
Problems and Requirements
The floor topping needed to have a high degree of slip resistance and be resistant to aviation fuels and hydraulic chemicals, such as Skydrol.
The slab was primed and levelled with Epoxy Primer PF – a pre-filled, coloured primer with special adhesion promoting additives to ensure a superb bond to the substrate. It was then topped with two layers of Epoxy OS Color with a slip resistant aggregate sandwiched in between.
Various samples were produced to demonstrate the levels of anti slip that were possible and the client opted for a Quartzsand aggregate 0.3-0.6mm in size.
