High performance epoxy resin floor suitable for demanding engineering environment
Brief Description
From humble beginnings as a transmission remanufacturer in 1966, the client decided to relocate to a new purpose built, 18.3-hectare site, where they could maintain their growth. The main facility will be used to remanufacture automatic transmission, manual gearboxes and electronics.
Problems and Requirements
The previous engineering factory floor measuring 3800m2 required replacement to cope with the company’s new processes. The existing concrete slab, which covered three quarters of the total area, was badly damaged, rutted and showed mid-high moisture content.
The remaining quarter was an extension of newly laid power floated concrete floor, which was very high in moisture content due to being only a few weeks old.
The solution was to install an easy to clean, slip resistant and hard wearing resin floor system, which could handle the stress of the daily rigors throughout the new engineering environment.
