Decorative resin floor with underfloor heating for changing areas
Brief Description
As part of the extensive refurbishment works at an international food manufacturing company, 800m² of decorative non-slip floormix screed was applied to the changing areas, lockers, toilets and showers.
This included works to the existing building and the new build areas, and was carried out over two phases, three months apart.
Problems and Requirements
Requirements were for a tough, durable, non-slip, seamless hygienic finish to last in excess of 10-years. Problems encountered were numerous interfaces between old concrete and new concrete, incorporation of underfloor heating requiring detailed design meeting to accurately plot joints and screed bays. Reinforcement details were also required over joint interfaces.
